Allocations Policies Updated as of July 2010
Following the direction of the 2005 Long Range Task Force to "open the door wider to participants from non-Unidos churches", the UEC Council, in March of 2009, voted that "any 4th Day member may sponsor another Christian whether or not the Sponsor or Weekender belong to a UEC Church". The Council chose NOT to make it effective until careful planning and implementation could take place.
In January 2010, the 2010 Policy Task Force was appointed and assigned the task of planning and implementation. They have completed their work and the new policy is effective beginning July 2010. Those on the 2010 Policy Task Force were Dick Hamblin, Trace James, Pamela Jensen, Dennis Miller, Polly Olson, Kathy Walker and Steve Wilson.
Basically, this means that if you have attended a cursillo-type weekend and would like to sponsor your Christian friend who attends a church not affiliated with any cursillo organization .... well, you can! We will welcome them to a UEC weekend with open arms and grace filled acceptance.
Beginning July 2010, you will need to use the NEW WEEKEND REGISTRATION FORM when sponsoring someone to attend a UEC weekend
You can read about these changes in the June 2010 Palanca Press. Or, for more extensive information, please click here. You will find the complete list of 2010 Policy Task Force Recommendations as presented by the Task force to the UEC Council on April 27, 2010 and accepted unanimously by Council on May 25, 2010. You will also find the Allocations Policies document that has been available to the community revised. Both documents give good explanation about why certain policies have been changed and how they are being implemented.
If, after reading these documents, you have questions or would like clarification regarding these changes, please contact any Council Member and they will do their best to either answer your questions or direct you to someone who can.
Registration Form Fee and Team JOG raised, effective with June 2010 Weekends:
At the December 2009 Council meeting, UEC Council voted to raise the fee for the Weekender registration from $30.00 to $40.00 per applicant effective beginning with registrations submitted for the June 2010 weekends. A new Weekend Registration Form (dated July, 2010) is available on the Resources/Forms page of this web site or from your UEC Church Liaison.
UEC Council also voted to raise the suggested Team JOG donation from $50.00 to $60.00 per person effected for the June 2010 team members. Remember, this is a suggested donation. Please do not feel that you cannot serve on team if this is a hardship for you. No one keeps track of how much each team member donates. Many donate more than the suggested amount and God always provides. Ask God what He wants you to give.
Spouse Attendance Policy has been Updated (April 2009)
At the April 28, 2009 UEC Council meeting, the policy that requires spouses to attend together was ammended. It now reads:
"For married couples, it is customary, and strongly recommended that both husband and wife attend UEC together on the same set of weekends. We encourage you to read the brochure, "UEC for the Married Couple" (updated to reflect the policy change) for better understanding of WHY we recommend this..."

Create PowerPoint Slides of UEC Music Lyrics:
UEC is looking for people who have beginner or better experience with PowerPoint to create slides of the lyrics of songs that are common to UEC. The goal is to have slides that look appealing, clear, and easy to read with creative and/or scenery backgrounds. If you are interested in helping, contact Brian LaLuzerne.
UEC Bulletin Board Committee
Our newly formed UEC Bulletin Board Team will be happy to custom design a UEC Bulletin Board for your church. Come to an October 2009 Clausura to see a UEC Bulletin Board display and pick what works best for your church. We will design fun and colorful or peaceful and elegant, whatever you like.
The final product will include a UEC brochure holder and information for your board including the UEC Faith Statement, How to Attend a UEC Weekend, Who to Contact, etc. Items will be modular so you can rearrange them on your board from time to time. We will charge the cost of materials only.
If you enjoy scrapbooking type crafts, we would love to have you be
part of our team!

Lee at 952-829-7839.
UEC Database Team Forming
UEC is in the process of moving our database to a secured
server and updating the format. We are forming a Database
Team to help with this project and provide future support. The
user (front-end) piece will be Microsoft Access 2007. Support
will involve occasional help with a new query/view. We are
looking for a couple of people with Access input experience
to manage address changes, roster updates, etc. (less than
one hour per week). We are also looking to identify those
in the Community that have Access / MySQL programming
proficiency who we could call when needed in the future. If
interested, contact Kathy
Walker.
Promotional Materials Help Needed
The Long Range Task Force (2005) made the recommendation that UEC update it’s promotional materials. We have two new brochures, a DVD, and various sponsorship packets. Help is needed to manage these materials. Requires storing of materials, packet stuffing and mailing materials upon request. For more information, contact Kathy Walker .
UEC Speakers Bureau & Pulpit Supply
The UEC Council would like to form two lists of people.
The first
is a list of experienced UEC 4th Dayers willing to be available to go
to prospective and new UEC churches and give a presentation to the staff
and/or the church about UEC. We will provide materials and guidelines.
This might include showing the five minute DVD presentation and being
available to answer questions afterwards.
The second list we would like to form is a list of ordained clergy willing
to fill in at new UEC churches during the weekend when their clergy
attend a UEC weekend.
To be added to either list, contact Kathy Walker .
